My Dear Ginners,

I on behalf of my self, my colleagues and all the members of Pakistan Cotton Ginners’ Association feel proud to give my message on this web site. While doing so I wish to record the appreciation of the keenness of the Government to study closely the problems and attainments of cotton growers, ginners, exporters for future development, cooperation and better achievements for the prosperity and welfare of the people and Ginning Industry in Pakistan.

Cotton being the back bone of the economy of Pakistan,  needs no emphasis to treat this silver fiber with velvet gloves so that prosperity of the country would be achieved and the interest of the growers, ginners, the textile mills and the exporters is safeguarded, although the Pakistan cotton has earned for itself a vantage position amongst the cotton growing countries of the world with definite signs of improvement during the past decades yet it needs a complete overhaul based on an analytical study and adoption of technical measures for the improvement of the whole cotton industry.

It is a matter of great appreciation that since 1971-72 the production of cotton has steadily been improved to about 3.98 million bales in 1947-48 to 14.3 million bales in the year 2004-05, based upon several factors including a revolution in the quality consciousness exhibited by the buyers both local and in foreign. The economic factor supported the whole issue by the involvement of Trading Corporation of Pakistan after closing of Cotton Export Corporation and the cooperation of Textile Mills as well. I feel no hesitation to state that a remarkable cooperation has been extended by my members, friends and ginners from all over Pakistan that is why ever since 1977-78 the standard of ginning and pressing of cotton in Pakistan has shown definite sign of further improvement and embarked upon an era of maintaining higher standard of ginning preparation then ripley effort on the part of cotton ginners under the code of ethics of PCGA which has brought good name to Pakistan in the community of cotton exporting Nations which is evident from the fact that our efforts in promoting the standard and grade of cotton has proved but this is not an end. There is still room for further improvement for which we are doing our best.

We are going along with the Government proposals and strategy and struggling full to renown the name of Pakistan for making contamination free cotton I am confident that my friends will adopt the entire possible means and measures to work for production of contamination free cotton which will the name of Pakistan as a best cotton producers country, in all over the world.
